Social Media Tips – Using New Media Guerrilla Marketing in Turbulent Business Economies

For many businesses today, social media sites are the best place to find an attract new customers for their business. Places like Twitter make it easy for you to search for and connect with people in your target group. From there on you build the relationship, show your knowledge, grow your authority and hopefully get customers.

You can subscribe to alerts for keywords that are used on Twitter and then identify which tweets are from companies needing services falling into your particular niche. Then, you can reply to their tweet, saying that you may be able to help them out. There is no hard sell here; it is more like being at an event and saying, “I overheard you say you are looking to have your website translated. What exactly are you looking for?”. Sometimes you will be ignored while other times you will go off the site and start communicating directly.

Eventually, you will obtain clients that come to you as a result of them following your business on Twitter. When they need a company that offers your particular services, guess who will be in the front of the line? You of course as long as you take the time to develop the relationship by providing links to valuable content through your Tweets.

With the turbulent economy today, businesses are looking for guerrilla and grassroots marketing strategies, mainly through social networking sites, because of the cost factor; they are free! Once you jump in with both feet and use all of the available social media tools out there, you will be convinced that online social networking is the NEW wave of marketing, allowing manufacturers and retailers to connect directly with their clients, therefore creating a personal relationship. With all of the distrust that consumers are currently experiencing, the person to person contact is becoming very important.

If you are out to attract prospective customers and develop your online presence and exposure, you owe it to yourself and the financial future of your business to learn everything you can about social media.
